[Not So] Happy New Year

Today was the first day of year 2010. I would normally put it in CAPS, saying, "IT'S THE NEW YEAR OF 2010!!!!" but I can't due to the fact that things didn't start out so great this very morning. Why? My dad finally found out about my grades and feel extremely horrible about it. To start off with this morning, I was getting really annoyed with my dad picking on my mum, trying to make her feel going oh her trip to China in late-March, the trip she's been waiting for ever since two years ago but never got. He kept on telling her that she shouldn't be going on vacations but rather make more money for my college tuition. My mom was unwavering and got irritated because he's been doing this for weeks. So this morning, I told my dad to lay off of mum, so he decided shut up about her and then pick on me, saying that I was shit and lazy bitch. Then he had a go at my grades saying that I should probably have got them by now(, which is true, just never told him about it.) After an hour of unwillingness to tell him my grade, he demanded that I show him on the internet. I hate how parents go like I won't yell at you if you get bad grades. Just try harder next time, and when you tell them about your bad grades, they give you shit. Anyways, I showed him my two B- and one B and went upstairs to cry a bit because I felt really guilty. I decided to do the New Year cleaning to just be alone by myself for a while until I felt better. After two hours, dad, mum, and I tried to be cheerful [since we had a party to go to in the afternoon]. This morning was just really bad for me to start off the New Years with. So much for the goat being lucky and happy on the year of the tiger. HMPF!
But I'll admit, the afternoon was a bit more entertaining. At 1, I went to run with my dad, and at 3ish, we got ready to go to Great-Aunt Lou's place to celebrate the New Year. Andrew and his dad picked dad, mum, and me up, and once we got there, we just lounged around. As more people came, things got fun-ner. We (Irene, Andrew, and me) walked Eddie, played DS, badminton, and once Albert and Ryan arrived (separately), we played this car video game and LIFE. Ryan is hilarious. Oh, and obviously we ate before the playing. Noodles, baby back ribs, smores, mmmm. Good stuff. Yep, I definitely admit that I had fun that afternoon. Even though this day didn't turn out to be the one I really expected/want, I can only hope that this year will bring more happiness unlike today-ish.
